About us
The Warriner School Farm provides practical, relevant and realistic experience of farming, the care of animals and the rural environment. Extending to 48ha (120 acres), we are one of the largest school farms in the country and our livestock includes 15 cows, 64 ewes, 2 sows, 4 nannies, laying hens, geese and a donkey. Our Small Animal Unit includes rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes and a bearded dragon. Pupils are able to volunteer at the Farm before school and at lunchtimes and also have the opportunity to study for BTEC Animal Care.
As well as the Warriner School pupils, we work with children from Banbury, Bicester and the surrounding area, many of whom find learning in a classroom a challenge, have low self esteem, or who simply enjoy being around the farm and the animals. They have the opportunity to learn a huge variety of skills such as routine feeding and cleaning out, handling and training animals, lambing, estate skills and tractor work.
Each year we also host around 2500 visitors to learn about the farm and meet the animals, or take part in Forest School sessions or one of our environment workshops such as minibeasts, owls and pond dipping. We welcome visitors of all ages, from our Forest Tots sessions for toddlers, preschool, primary and secondary school classes, youth groups including Scouts and Guiding, and adult community groups such as Women's Institutes and Evergreens.
The Warriner School Farm Trust was established to support the work of the Farm and raises funds for specific projects or capital items.
Please do help us to sustain this unique resource!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Isabel Hands, Asst Farm Manager
